Delica Pumpkin is roundish, with dark green skin and orange flesh.

When cooked it has a soft, tender, and creamy consistency with a rich, nutty and sweet flavor.

Delica squashes are native to Japan and are a type of kabocha squash. It was later introduced to Europe, where it became widely cultivated throughout the northern Italy especially in Lombardy region.

The weight is typically between 1 and 1,50 kg and it is highly appreciated for its cooking versatility and its extraordinary organoleptic characteristics.

Delica squashes are an excellent source of beta-carotene. The squashes are also a good source of minerals such as copper, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc, and vitamins such as vitamin B and vitamin C.

Every part of pumpkin, except for its stalk, is edible: besides the flesh, you can also eat the skin, the leaves, the flowers and the sprouts. The skin is really good in the soups.

The flowers are amazing fried, filled with mozzarella and anchovies. They are perfect also for the seasoning of pasta or stuffed with fish or meat (here’s a very good recipe)

Yes, pumpkin leaves are edible too. Use them in cooked recipes like you would spinach

Pumpkin seeds are a really good snack, can be cooked in a pan or in the oven.

You can use the pumpkin also to prepare excellent muffin, (here’s the recipe)
